The Cisco ASA Advanced Inspection and Prevention Security Services Module (ASA-SSM) is the IPS plug-in module in the Cisco ASA 5500 series adaptive security appliance (ASA). The ASA software combines firewall, VPN concentrator, and intrusion detection and prevention software functionality into one software image.
