RAID 6 technology allows data to be recovered even when a drive fails during the rebuilding process (two drive failure). The high speed eSATA port is particularly useful for high speed mirroring via an external HDD device such as the PowerBay RAID or single drive, allowing access to data even if the NAS unit malfunctions. Real time volume replication/backup to another PowerBay NAS unit is available via the external LAN port.
