Out of the two architecture options offered by the Cisco Unified Wireless Network, the AIR-LAP1142N-A-K89 is the controller based version, the other option being the stand-alone version. Hence it is advised to be used for businesses of any size and deployment topology and offers the best versatility along with feature velocity for centralized or distributed deployment. Furthermore, it also supports working on both AC and DC input voltage, with voltage ranging from 44 to 57 V for DC and 100 to 240 V for AC.
